plainplay

A quiet app for children, and the paper things that go with it.

You'll get our free list of things to do in real life, and first word when the decks are ready. Nothing else.

You're on the list. Thank you.

the app

Twelve small games for ages four to eight. No scores, no sounds, no streaks. Each one is meant to be put down — and to leave something behind when it is.

In testing now. Coming to the App Store.

notice — the world around you

A deck of forty-two cards, each one a small thing to notice: the quietest sound, the farthest thing you can see, the wind finding you. One edition for outside. One for before bed.

First decks ship after the app.

the constellation kit

A night sky on paper. Black pages, a white pencil, a small wooden star stamp, and a chart of real constellations to trace before you invent your own.

A numbered first edition, later.

why

We noticed our children's screens were built to be picked up and never put down. So we made one that does the opposite — and then we made the things that should be waiting on the other side: paper, a pencil, a card that says to go outside and find something.

We're building all of it at a kitchen table in Ardmore, Pennsylvania, and writing it down as we go: @plainplay.co

privacy

The Plain Play app collects no personal information, has no accounts, no advertising, and no third-party analytics. Nothing a child does in the app leaves the device.

This website keeps only the email address you give us for the list, so we can send you what we promised. We don't sell or share it, and every message has a way to unsubscribe. Questions: [email protected].
